The cost to purchase a pup, raise and socialize it, provide for care and expenses, equipment, training, and the time and work that goes into creating each and every single DogWish Service dog is not cheap. With your generous Donations, and Sponsor Support from those who share our vision, we will be able to continue to provide future K9 Service Dogs to transform the lives of those who need them most. WHY SHOULD YOU DONATE TO DOGWISH?

  • DOGWISH uses 100% of all money donated to help potential and actual recipients.
Unlike other “charities” who only give a portion of the money donated to them to help with client concerns, DOGWISH gives every Penney donated to us to help pay for our Service Dogs.
We survive from the money we make from our dog training, pay our own bills, and also donate to DOGWISH as well.
  • DOGWISH is State Licensed, and our dogs are EACH Licensed by the State.
Our dogs wear official State tags, not just our own certification.
  • DOGWISH custom trains each dog we place according to the needs of the recipient.
Most organizations train a generic dog, and teach their recipients how to handle that dog.  We custom trains each dog to work for the handler, then provide a lifetime training and behavior guarantee.  We do on site, in-home, and local training with each dog to insure the dog is a good “fit” for each handler, anywhere in America.
  • DOGWISH will send you pictures and information on each recipient your donation goes to help.
We’ll keep you informed on the progress, exciting happenings, and incredible life changes your money helped to create.
  • DOGWISH is open for visits from anyone.  If you want to see us in action, we’re glad to have you.

THE UNIQUE GIFT DOGWISH PROVIDES
Some years ago one of my good friends had to place his 21 year old son, disabled with Autism, into a facility built and staffed for people with Developmental Disabilities.  He was just out of control and my friend’s family could no longer handle him.  Three weeks later the young man died trying to eat dinner.  He choked, and no one was there to help him.  It was devastating.  My friend has never gotten over it.  I had another friend whose 17 year old son who was disabled with Asberger’s Syndrome and was having a horrible time communicating in school.

I went to his home and taught him how to “feel” what his body was feeling, and then to express to me what his body was feeling.  At the time he did not like his dad’s dogs because they ignored him, but after a few lessons he learned to control them, to communicate with them, and enjoy them.  He went back to school and would tell people how his body felt when they spoke to him.  “Bob Taylor told me to tell you that when you talk to me like you do I feel pain in my heart, and my throat hurts.”  People got the message, and his life turned around.  Four years later he graduated from College with a degree in Accounting, he works with a firm, and can do it all.

That was the time in MY life when I made the decision to make Service Dog training my primary goal in my career.  My first client was Mathew Lachenmeyer, a 13 year old teenager who was severely disabled with Autism.   He had never spoken a word to anyone, and lived in his own world, until I brought him Wyatt, his own Service Dog.  I will never forget receiving a phone call from his dad, who called me about 2 months into their experience with Wyatt.  I answered the phone and there was silence.  Finally, Scott said, “Bob”, and more silence.  He was deeply emotional and had to fight to speak his words.  “Mathew, just, spoke to me.”  I was soo excited!  “What did he say,” I asked.  “He brought Wyatt over to me and made him sit, as he shoved his head into me.  Then, all of a sudden he said, D..a..d, I l..o..v..e you,” with his arms around Wyatt.  Scott stopped again for a moment to regain his emotional stability, and then he said, “because of that dumb dog!”  It all happened because of Wyatt.

DOGWISH is a unique gift, it’s my way to reach into the homes and hearts of people who live their lives, in 15 minute spurts, in constant crisis, and bring love, joy, hope, peace, and happiness.  Each dog I place is another chance to transform the lives of several people.  It all happens through the dogs, and because of the dogs, to whom I owe an incalculable dept.

Since I starting training Service Dog for people disabled with Autism the ratio of these people being born into our world has gone from 1 in 150 boys and 1 in 200 girls, to 1 in 65 boys now and 1 in 88 girls now.  This disability alone is growing at 15 to 20 percent a year.  DOGWISH is the first organization to get a Service Dog for a student with Autism into a full-time enrollment in a Public School in California.  We now have several. In the past 10 years we have placed over 100 such dogs, and the need and market for our dogs is greater every day.

When you support DOGWISH with your Donation or Sponsorship, you are doing your part to reach out and connect in the most powerful way possible with someone who is suffering from one of many neurological disabilities. DOGWISH trains dogs for people who don’t fit into conventional catagories recognized by most Service Dog Organizations.  DOGWISH trains dogs to do things no one else has or could train them to do.  DOGWISH puts out a better dog, with better training, and gets better results than any organization of its’ kind.
