Debbie & Thor, A DogWish Success Story
DogWish K9 Training Transforming Lives!
My name is Debbie. I contacted Bob Taylor last year after I almost lost one of my precious dogs. I own four male dogs, accumulated by my son and his girlfriend, who enjoy the “gang”, including my male Akita mix named Jake, my lab/shepherd male mix named Charlie, my American Bulldog named Diesel, and young 1 ½ year old American Pit Bull dog, Thor.
My cute little Pit Bull puppy Thor started growing up last summer, and became increasingly dominant with the other dogs, and this seemed to start a chain reaction. My Akita is older and has always been the dominant dog, matched by the temperament of my American Bull Dog Thor. However, the dogs, who had seemed somewhat under control, became increasingly aggressive with neighbor dogs, and neighbors, and then themselves. It began to scare me and I spoke to my son about it, but that didn’t work at all. I work full time, and thought my son had control over the dogs, but came home one day to find one of my dogs chewed up by the others. After taking Diesel to the vet I realized that I needed to take charge and save them myself. I work full time and didn’t think I can capable of handling four large, strong dogs, and their potentially dangerous abilities. They were becoming more and more aggressive, and I was scared somebody was going to be seriously injured.
Fortunately I met a client of Bob’s who’s Service Assistance K9, “Bel”, a beautiful black Shepherd, showed a very powerful, and very controlled behavior. It impressed me, so I got Bob’s number from Chris and gave him a call. I was so embarrassed, and hated having to tell him what had become of my now out of control group of dangerous dogs. Bob came over right away, evaluated the dogs, sat down with me, and helped me to understand for the first time in my life, that I did have the ability to resolve my problems with my dos, and that he was going to take me by the hand and help me do the whole thing.
This was not easy for anyone. My dogs had never been trained. My son could yell at them and they would respond submissively, but that was it. If I tried that they would laugh and go on. Bob started one dog at a time, showed me exactly how to work them, loaned me the equipment until I could buy my own, came over session after session until I could bring my dogs to him, and helped me learn how to develop and use my natural abilities to develop complete control over my dogs at home, around each other, my cats, my horses, and outside around my block, in town, and wherever.
Bob’s methods are scientific, comprehensive, safe, gentle and loving, and work! I’m a small woman, not real strong, and of normal ability, and Bob showed me how to become a gentle giant with my dogs. It has taken me about six months to complete my training. My dogs now respond on and off leash to my commands, and are controlled and safe around each other, and society. I can sleep at night and go to work knowing my dogs are OK. So I would like to thank Bob for going out of his way to help some who really needed him. He put the ability to handle my situation into me when it wasn’t there. He went out of his way to make sure I was OK, when I wasn’t. He took the time to instill in me courage, strength, and an ability to face and handle a world I didn’t think I could resolve.
Thanks Bob, for being there for me and my dogs.
